Bio/About me

Since ever passionate about art Federico Grazzini started drawing and painting in his young age observing the works of his father who loved to paint as a hobby. The first source of inspiration was the Metaphysics of De Chirico and Savinio and the Surrealism of Dali 'and Magritte; afterwards he studied and deepened all the most important avant-gardes of the twentieth century.
The main technique is oil on canvas and sometimes wood, cardboard and more. His works are representative of real or imaginary landscapes, figures, personalized architectural elements with references to history, mythology and sometimes with a pinch of enigma. The metaphysical reference is present in many of his works where the order and the compositional clearness define the stylized physiognomy and the clear outlines of the objects represented, be they mannequins, sculptures, architectural elements and showcases.
The works of Federico Grazzini have been reviewed by art critics such as Paolo LEVI, Giorgio FALOSSI, Sandro SERRADIFALCO, Roberto PERDICARO.
Two works by the artist are present in the Collection of Prints and Drawings of the SGARBI Collection at the Cavallini-Sgarbi Palace, Ro Ferrarese-Ferrara.
